I ended my previous posting stating,
In my next posting, I’ll discuss the problem of determining what became of Samuel Kerr elder and wife Margaret Pickens after they acquired land on the northwest fork of Long Cane by October 1762 — as I have concluded was the case — and after they apparently settled on that land. From the point at which Samuel and Margaret sold their Augusta County, Virginia, land in November 1760, they disappear from Augusta County records, and on 23 March 1773, a court record in Augusta County states that Samuel Kerr was no longer an inhabitant of the county.[1]
