Preliminary Remarks
My protracted absence from this blog is due to a month-long trip I made to visit friends in Germany and travel with them to their vacation house in the south of France. I just returned from that trip last week, and will soon resume my series of postings on the Lauderdale family of Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. That series began with this posting.
