As the previous posting shows, Thomas Leonard and Sarah Lauderdale’s daughter Matilda Caroline married Cordy Claiborne Clifton on 12 July 1831 in Limestone County, Alabama, and then moved with him to DeSoto County, Mississippi, where Cordy died 2 August 1851.[1] Moving from along with Cordy and Matilda were her sister Minerva D. Leonard, who married Samuel Johnston in Limestone County on 27 August 1835.[2] (To read the continuation of this posting, please click the numeral 2 below.)
