A bit more than a year ago, in February 2025, I launched a series on my Lauderdale ancestral line. The initial posting of the series features charts showing how I connect to a Lauderdale family descending from an eighteenth-century Ulster Scots immigrant to Pennsylvania (?), whose descendants moved to Augusta (later Botetourt) County, Virginia, and from there fanned out to points west including northeast Georgia and north Alabama in the case of my own line descending from John Lauderdale (1745 – 1830/1840).
