Or, Subtitled: Family Traditions but an Absence of Other Records
This posting ends a series that began with a discussion about how the ancestral line of John Lauderdale (1745 – 1830/1840) ties into my family tree, then established some basic facts about John including his likely year of birth, then moved on to discuss his Revolutionary war record in Virginia and Georgia, and in the last two postings prior to this one (here and here), discussed records for John in Georgia and South Carolina up to 1806. As the last posting I’ve just linked notes, family lore states that John moved his family from Pendleton District, South Carolina, to Sumner County, Tennessee, in 1806.
