Dates of birth, first three children of George and Mary Birdwell, in Birdwell family bible register– see Daughters of the American Revolution (Texas), Genealogical Records Committee, Family Genealogical Records, Birdwell, 1721-1900 (1955), available digitally at FamilySearch, “George Birdwell”; and Find a Grave memorial page of George Birdwell, burial details unknown, created by Ray Isbell

Or, Subtitled, “They traveled mostly by keel boat down the Ohio River. Thence into Missouri like all other pioneers by covered wagon”

This posting continues a discussion I began in a previous one in which I discussed the children of George Birdwell (bef. 1725 – 1781) by his first wife, whose name is not known. As two previous postings indicate (here and here), George is found in records of Orange County, Virginia, then in Augusta and Botetourt Counties, Virginia, from 1745 to 1779, when he moved in late 1779 or early 1780 to Sullivan County, North Carolina — now Tennessee. George died in Bedford County, Virginia, between 14 September 1781, when he made his will, and 26 November 1781 when the will was probated.[1]
