As my revised posting states, the bible whose register was transcribed and published in 1909 appears to have originally belonged to Andrew and Rebecca’s daughter Catherine and her husband Dr. John Hunter. This bible passed down to their descendants and in 1909 belonged to Mrs. F.A. Woodson of Denver, Colorado. Since the bible register lists all of the children born to Andrew Pickens and Rebecca Calhoun, I think it’s likely that the Hunters transcribed that information from the bible of Catherine’s parents — or the family bible of Andrew and Rebecca went to Catherine and her family then added to it over the years information from that branch of the family.

I discover, on reading this bible transcript that this bible is at least one source for the information that Andrew and Rebecca had a daughter Jane who was born in March 1773 and died 27 October 1773. The bible register also lists the births of two unnamed sons of Andrew and Rebecca who died in infancy. This source has allowed me to add to and correct some of the information I shared in my previous posting, and I wanted readers who may have read the previous posting to know about this — hence this note.
