I gathered quite a bit of material from locked files to which I did not have access as I made postings here in the past, and in coming days, I’ll be adding this material to my previous postings, correcting and expanding those postings as I do so. I plan to issue notices here as I made this corrections and additions, so that anyone who wants to retrieve the new material I’ve found will know where to find it.
My first addendum and correction to a previous posting: when I posted on this blog back in August 2022 about Thomas Jefferson Brooks (1835/8 – 1862), son of Alexander Mackey Brooks and Carolina Puckett, I noted that the 1860 federal census shows Thomas as a miller living in Bastrop, Texas — but that I had not found information verifying that Thomas owned a mill.
